Our Newest Print

Our newest print features a crucifix made of bones with a skull floating in the center. It is surrounded by bursts of bright colors. Available matted in black as a limited edtion, the print will fit a standard 11×14 frame.

And to make your life even easier, we are now able to provide stainless steel frames that compliment the artwork nicely. We have looked long and hard to find a frame that we were proud to offer our customers, and this is the one—complete with glass and wire for hanging. All of our 11×14 limited edition prints are now available framed for only $75 (you can still buy the unframed matted prints for $35)

    1. I love the colors. nice job.

    1. In regards to the muchachos questions “When do you take your altar down?” I am very much like the artists of this site and have decided to leave my altar up year round. It has become a point of interest in our home as well as a mini art gallery. Visitors always stop to check it out and ask about the art displayed there as well as the history of Dia de la Muertos.

The funny thing is I am only half Mexican, but I have always been drawn to this part of my heritage and keeping a shrine to the Virgin and a year round altar helps me stay in touch with my roots and my prayers.

On my altar are my many relatives who have passed as well as the names of the hundreds of American soldiers (men and women) who have died in Iraq. Even though I feel helpless to do anything politically, I know in my heart that those soldiers will never be forgotten.

My altar has become quite extensive and I always take a moment to pray and light my candles in the morning. My husband is Jewish so there is also a Hebrew flair to my altar in respect to his deceased parents.

I find that many people who are uneducated about Dia de Las Muertos, initally thing that I practice Santeria or Voodoo…..lol…lol…that never fails to crack me up. I could not be more Catholic however even my own mother will tell people she doesn’t know where I got all “those crazy ideas”.

Thanks for letting me share :o)

      Carina
